13 Overnight Vehicle Break-ins Reported in Town and Country

Police said the incidents occurred in Willowbend Apartments this week.

A total of 13 vehicle break-ins were reported in the Willowbend Apartment complex early Tuesday morning, according to an email from Town and Country Police Department.

The email said most of the vehicle doors were locked, but had been tampered with to gain entry. A variety of items were reported stolen.

The following is the rest of the email from Town and Country Police:

Police in a neighboring jurisdiction discovered an abandoned pickup truck that was reported stolen from a nearby city. Several items stolen from the cars at Willowbend were found inside the stolen pickup truck.  That property was returned to the owners.

Town and Country are working with several surrounding agencies to identify the person(s) responsible.

Although this appears to be an isolated incident, we urge residents to be aware of suspicious vehicles. If you see something call the police, and do not hesitate to use 9-1-1.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Community Relations Officer Katie Exline at 314-587-2892 email at exlinek@town-and-country.org or Detective Jim Gorman at 314-587-2866 email at gormanjk@town-and-country.org.
