Save Countrylane Woods trees!!!

Save Countrylane Woods trees from proposed stormwater project by the City of Manchester!!! This is proposed to start very soon!

The City of Manchester has proposed to cut down our common ground trees lining our creekbed. It will destroy the ecosystem and wildlife corridor.. There are many 40+ year old trees here. MSD has told us that they wouldn't be doing this project. Manchester has storm water tax money accumulated, imbedded in sales taxes, so I am told by ex-City Engineer. He resigned recently after many years. One wonders what happened there? Okay, back to the topic...We don't want this, no one's home floods here! They said some trees fell, (trees naturally fall in woodlands)so let's cut down many of them and put in rocks and riprap! This has been by 'private notice', with a letter arriving 12/12/12 telling us they will do this! The alderman and alderwoman told me this project would require our permission, then somehow they were able to get trustees to sign away our common ground here! Also, I write this because they are asking for a ten year permit from USACE to do this same thing to all of Manchester... Save your trees, save all of our trees!!!

Please write the US Army Corps of Engineers, or call them - they gave the permit for our proposed April project and this new permit expires 4/08/13 http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/ConOps/permits/pn/P-2319.pdf
