Help Save Countrylane WoodsTrees!

Please help save Countrylane Woods' trees! Our intent is to stop a proposed project to be done by Manchester affecting the ecosystem & homeowners.

There are now orange X's on 20 or more large trees lining the La Feil creekbed, can be seen from Mautenne...They are slated for demolition, as said in a letter to homeowners! Their intent is to clearcut all of the vegetation on our common ground land, and all trees 8 inches in diameter to be cut down! They say we have a safety hazard?! We say no one has been harmed in over 40 years! Numerous children have been raised here and playing in their yards next to this area. They have smart parents that inform their children, and like us they all have a Love of Nature! We have a thriving ecosystem. I have thousands of photos of animals, birds & the seasonal changes of our trees & plants taken over the 30 years we have lived here. So, what to do when the city says they are going to destroy your Sanctuary? No negotiation, no talks about it, they just sent a letter for a private meeting in January and had all these blueprints that they plotted, unbeknownst to any of us!  We don't know who requested this, or what the actual story is. I spoke at public comments at Manchester meetings three times since this private announcement to us. Our petition http://signon.org/sign/save-la-feil-trees-in has 216 signers now. People do care about saving this microcosmic ecosystem here! Please help us by signing, and by calling Mayor David Willson at 636-225-3772 or Public Works Director Bob Ruck at 636-227-1285 ext. 109. Ask them to stop this unnecessary Channel B stormwater project and leave La Feil trees alone!!! This is a Wildlife Corridor, all mammals & birds that exist in the County traverse & reside here at one time or another... Thank you!!! We so appreciate any & all help~ Paraphrasing Chief Seattle, 'What we do to the Earth, we do to Ourselves'! Do we care about each other, & the animals, birds & trees that can't speak for themselves? Yes, we do!!! Please help in whatever way you can or choose to...I am grateful to anyone that reads this blog~*~Namaste~*~
