Second Annual Bark-b-que

“The best thing in a rescued pet’s life is a second chance."

On August 14, 2011 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, PURINA® PRO PLAN®,  CJ’s Pet Corral and non-profit dog rescue groups will co-host the second annual Purina Pro Plan Rally to Rescue BARK-B-QUE at Memorial Park in Jefferson City. 

Admission donation is $3.00 for anyone over 12 years of age. 

The Bark-B-Que will feature animals from rescues and shelters available for adoption.  Everyone is invited to bring their own dogs, on a leash.  There will be a variety of fun activities including free samples handouts, horse rides, agility demonstrations, Build a Bear type activities, vendors, raffles and more.  Entertainment will be provided by Hilley and Hart along with the Class of Rock and Jefferson City’s own Wes the Musician!

We are hosting a food drive to benefit the Samaritan Center.  Please be generous and bring a food donation!  Remember to bring pet items, food, treats and crates that you no longer need for a donate to Trash to Treasure.  Bar-b-qued hot dog meals will be available so come have some fun, enjoy a light dinner and then head on over to Memorial Pool with your dog for the annual Hot Dippety Dog event from 6-7pm.

Jefferson City Animal Shelter’s Xena will be available for adoption at the Bark-B-Que.  If you are unable to attend you may fill out an application for Xena at Jefferson City’s Animal Shelter.  Today Xena is busy working with the Mid Mo Waggers, preparing for her new life with her new family.  She is learning good behavior and tricks.

Proceeds will benefit MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue, Friends of the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, and Callaway County Humane Society Rescue.
