M&I Community Day

M&I Community Day Raises Money, Awareness for Local Causes Employees at all 17 local M&I Bank branches organize fundraisers on June 9.

Employees at M&I Bank branches throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area will take part in M&I Community Day, a nationwide mobilization of M&I employees to benefit the
communities in which they work.

Based on the needs of their local communities, employees at each branch have selected an organization or cause to support through volunteer work or fundraising activities. On Thursday, June 9, many of M&I’s 17 St. Louis area branches that are participating will host bake sales, barbecues and collection drives at their individual bank locations.

“M&I Community Day provides a unique experience where thousands of our employees can give back to their local communities, in addition to the other volunteer commitments many M&I employees have throughout the year,” said Julie Hughes, regional president of M&I Bank in St. Louis. “Community Day provides our employees an opportunity to be part of an M&I effort that underscores our commitment to nonprofit organizations throughout the entire M&I system.”

M&I launched its Community Day in 2001, and since its inception, thousands of people have benefited from the efforts of M&I employees in St. Louis and across the nation.

This year’s benefitting organizations in the St. Louis metropolitan area include: The Sick & Elderly Program of The Hill; the St. Louis Police Department Backstoppers; Bridges Community Support Services; Dirk’s Fund; Open Door Animal Sanctuary; Chad’s Coalition; St. Louis Food Bank; Susan G. Komen Foundation; St. Clair Associated Vocational Enterprises; Circle of Concern; Our Lady’s Inn; Fisher House Foundation;  city of Joplin; Humane Society; Barnes Jewish Social Work division; Women’s Safe House; and the Arnold Food Pantry.
