Meet One Dime at a Time Recipient: Youth in Need

Whole Foods Market gives 10 cents per bag to customers who re-use their own shopping bags for their purchased groceries. This program reduces our impact on the environment and now supports local nonprofit groups. 

Throughout January, February and March, customers will have the choice to accept their cash refund or donate the cash back to our store’s chosen nonprofit organization, Youth In Need.

Youth In Need’s mission is to provide nurturing environments and educational opportunities so children, teens and families will find safety and hope, achieve their goals, and build a positive future.

Each year, Youth In Need serves more than 12,000 children, teens and families in St. Louis City and St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren and Montgomery counties. At Youth In Need, the focus is on providing crisis prevention, intervention and recovery programs.

These programs include: residential group homes, counseling and support groups, homeless street outreach, foster care case management, infant child and family development, before and after school programs and Project Safe Place. 

In St. Louis County, children, teens and families can access help through the St. Louis County Youth Connection helpline at 314-628-2929. The first 25 customers to come by their table will receive a free tote bag.www.youthinneed.org
