Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble presents Bachelorette by Leslye Headland

Ten years out of high school, Regan, Gena and Katie convene in the luxurious bridal suite of their old friend, Becky, the night before her wedding in New York City. Fueled by jealousy and resentment, the girls embark on a night of debauchery that goes from playfully wasted to devastatingly destructive. Their old fears, unfulfilled desires and deep bonds with each other transform a prenuptial bender into a night they'll never forget. A wicked black comedy about female friendship and growing up in an age of excess.

Leslye Headland is a Los Angeles-based playwright, television, and screen writer. As a playwright, she is best known for her “Seven Deadly Sins” series, which includes Cinephilia (lust), Bachelorette (gluttony), Assistance (greed), Surfer Girl (sloth), Reverb (wrath), and The Accidental Blonde (envy). The seventh play remains unannounced. She was a writer on the FX series Terriers and screenwriter for the 2014 remake of About Last Night (an adaptation of David Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago). Headland wrote and directed the film adaptation of Bachelorette, starring Kirsten Dunst, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012.

SATE's performing ensemble includes Cara Barresi, Jamie Fritz, Wendy Renée Greenwood, Carl Overly, Jr., Jared Sanz-Agero and Ellie Schwetye. Mollie Amburgey is the Stage Manager. The production is directed by Rachel Tibbetts with lighting design by Bess Moynihan. Graphic design by Dottie Quick and photography by Joey Rumpell of RumZoo Photography.
