Police Pursuit Ends With Crash in Manchester

A police pursuit that started in St. Louis city ended with a crash in Manchester Sunday night.

A police pursuit that started in St. Louis city ended with a crash in Manchester Sunday night.

The pursuit started with St. Louis Metropolitan Police.

A police helicopter was also called in and followed the vehicle as it fled St. Louis police through West County.

Manchester Police Sergeant Dan West tells Town and Country - Manchester Patch his department was notified they had a police pursuit heading in their direction around 10:45 p.m. Sunday. 

West said the car was heading west on Manchester and crashed at Highway 141.

"No sooner did we get the call the pursuit was coming, than 30 seconds later the crash happened," West explained. He said two people ran from the wrecked car and Manchester officers helped in the foot pursuit that followed.

West said both people in the car were caught and taken into custody. They were detained at the  Sunday night.

Although St. Louis Metropolitan Police would not tell Patch why they were pusuing the vehicle Sunday night, West said neither person was armed and no weapons were recovered.
