Manchester and Town and Country Once Again Escape Storm Damage

Despite severe damage to surrounding areas, Manchester and Town and Country once again managed to escape mother nature's wrath during Sunday night's storms.

UPDATED: 4:00 p.m. Monday-

Town and Country city leaders said Monday that the telephone system at the Municipal Center is not working due to Sunday night's storms. Crews are repairing the lines, but in the meantime correspondence can be e-mailed to the City Clerk Pam Burdt at burdtps@town-and-country.org.

Despite severe damage to surrounding areas, Manchester and Town and Country once again got a break as Mother Nature stormed through the area.

Lightening and high winds left many nearby communities with downed trees and power lines and damage to homes and cars.

However, both and said they had no reports of significant damage after the storms cleared.

Early Monday morning Ameren Missouri reported that just over 20,000 customers were without power in St. Louis County. According to Ameren's outage map, close to 1000 customers in the Manchester and Town and Country area were without power. By Monday afternoon the county outages were down to just over 10,000 customers and it appeared most of Town and Country and Manchester power was restored.
