Saturday, October 29th, marked an event that My Airedale terrier, Jack, and I anticipate all year: The St. Louis Pet Expo.
For the past three years, he has accompanied me to the St. Charles Convention Center, to act as "Vanna," the Airedale featured in my book series. I am fortunate that he loves to travel.
As a champion show dog, his name, "Hit The Road Jack," suits him perfectly. Despite the throng of the crowds, accompanied by their own pets, including a giant turtle, Jack executed an enthusiastic, yet polite, "meet and greet".

The event was attended by over 160 exhibitors, including Shorty and Hercules from Animal Planet's TV show "Pit Boss."
One of the high points of the day was the Pet Halloween Costume Contest. More than fifty dogs and a few cats participated in this competition, which featured costumes such as a "Banana Split" and a "Ball Park Hot Dog."

With offerings such as the latest in pet products, agility demonstrations, low cost vaccinations and microchipping and a Mega Adoption event, the day passed quickly. There was something for everyone, and 2012 promises to be even better.
No wonder the attendance increases each year!
