What's That Smell at Walgreens in Manchester?

That's what customers wanted to know, so Patch has an answer from the company.

If you've visited the Walgreens store at 14529 Manchester Road, just west of Baxter Road, you may have noticed a strong odor inside the store in recent days.

Patch was alerted to the issue by a resident who was concerned it was unsafe or unhealthy for customers.

We went to the store. We also spoke with the store manager, who assured us the odor was not dangerous. We also contacted the corporate office.

A spokesperson for Walgreens tells Patch the odor is being caused by an issue with a trash compactor.

"We are working to resolve the issue for our customers as quick as possible," the spokesperson stated in an email to Patch.

No specific time frame was given for the issue to be resolved.
