Take the Fright out of Halloween Costume Shopping

MERS/Goodwill offers spooktacular halloween costumes that cost less.

The  store in Manchester, 14373 Manchester Road, is offering cost-conscious options for Halloween costume shoppers this year.

MERS/Goodwill staffers have picked five costume ideas to spark parents creativity in creating unique and fun costumes for trick-or-treaters this year.

  • Bodyguard: Look like personal protection agent with a dark suit, white button up and sunglasses. Suit jackets cost $10, and sunglasses are $2.
  • Mime: A striped shirt, dark pants, beret-style hat and white face paint are all it takes to become a silent theatrical performer for less than $12.
  • Zombie prom queen: Creep out fellow trick-or-treaters by wearing a long gown and painting your face a sallow shade of green. Stick your arms straight out and yell, “Brains!” because this costume is only $15!
  • Harry Potter: Recreate the magic of Hogwarts with dark pants, shirt and a cape. Add a broom, and you’re a Quidditch player, all for less than $20!
  • Will and Kate: Ladies wear a white dress with lacy sleeves, and gentleman don a red coat and blue sash with black slacks to impersonate the year’s most loved British couple. Wedding dresses are approximately $20, men’s suit jackets are $10 and slacks are $4.

Also available at all Goodwill locations are a variety of prepackaged, ready-to-go costumes. Premade children’s costumes start at $3, while adult costumes start at $6. To complete the holiday, MERS/Goodwill offers a variety of spooky decorations.
