'Suburban Journals' Closing St. Peters Office, Moving Staff to Town and Country

The "Suburban Journals" is closing it's St. Peters office and moving its staff to the company's Town and Country headquarters.

Suburban Journals is closing its located at 4212 N. Service Rd. in St. Peters  and moving its staff to the company's located at 14522 S. Outer 40 Rd. It's a move that was reportedly considered last year, but then decided against.

The paper's publisher Dave Bundy did not return repeated requests over the last few weeks from Town and Country-Manchester Patch for an interview about the move. However, last week, Bundy confirmed the move to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The Post-Dispatch article said the move is to help focus more resources on covering St. Charles County." In that article, Bundy said "the move would not affect the circulation of the newspaper, the number of pages or the amount of news produced in the paper and online."

Although not confirmed by Bundy, Suburban Journals employees told Patch that some employees may also move into the the Post-Dispatch's St. Charles office.

This news comes after a reorganization of the Journals in 2009, when several sports and news reporters were laid off. The North County office was closed in 2009, followed by other offices including those in Jefferson County, South County, and Warrenton.
