While flowers are a popular way to show mom just how grateful you are this Mother’s Day, why not give her an eco-friendly gift that also respects Mother Nature. Here are a few gift ideas that will last long after Mother’s Day has passed and make mom feel really special.

Fourth grade students at wrote and performed a song for fellow students in hopes of inspiring all students at Carman Trails to bring their best to school every day. It was the idea fourth-grader Kristen Hosto who took the initiative to go home and write a song on her own about believing in yourself and having the confidence to succeed.  

Families in need of financial assistance to help pay for their child’s health care treatments, services or equipment can apply for up to $5,000 in a United Healthcare Children’s Foundation grant. 

Interested in music lessons? The Community Music School offers one-on-one instruction on most instruments and voice, at three St. Louis locations: Webster Groves, Chesterfield and University City.  People of all ages and ability levels can be matched with one of the 80 master music teachers during New Student Registration.  Walk-in registration for the summer session (June 13-July 25) is available. 

Ex’Treme Institute by Nelly instructors and music industry professionals encourage a youngster’s love for the arts by making learning fun and exciting.  Budding artists can be enriched this summer by enrolling them in the Ex’Treme Institute Summer Camp through Vatterott College. Campers will get the opportunity to dance, record their own beat, sing, play instruments, photograph, be artistic, be dramatic, and much more. This performing arts and music camp is scheduled for six sessions beginning June 18 and continuing through July 26.
