Golf Galaxy, the superstore in the Chesterfield valley devoted to duffers and pros alike, is now set to move a couple of doors west by around Halloween, according to store officials.

The store has been remodeling the space previously occupied by the short-lived Big Lots and, in the process, preparing to unveil a new look for the retailer.

The existing store at 16 THF Blvd., Chesterfield, is advertising big "moving day" sales to clear our inventory before it moves west. The sales include 50 percent off on men's, women's and children's clothing, golf shoes and gloves, as well as 25 percent off most golf equipment for men, women and children.

The new store is about 35,000 square feet, about double the existing location. The new look store will be the first Golf Galaxy in the country with the updated branding. The re-design will be meant to imply the aesthetic of a classic two-story golf course club house, complete with a mock-up of a PGA-Event leaderboard.

Store workers said they are prepping for a move and be open "around Halloween," though a store clerk mentioned to a customer that the new store would be opened by Oct. 30.
