United Hebrew "Meet, Greet & Eat" Membership Event

United Hebrew Congregation, 13788 Conway Road, will host its annual family barbecue for new and prospective members on Sunday, August 21, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Members who have joined within the past year along with individuals and families seeking to join a congregation will be treated to a barbecue dinner, supervised children’s activities and tours of the educational facilities and sanctuary.  A brief presentation of the dynamic worship, music, educational (including B’nai Mitzvah preparation), social and community service opportunities will be given by the clergy and professional staff.

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk directly with Senior Rabbi Brigitte Rosenberg, Cantor Ron Eichaker, and Rabbi-Educator Roxanne Shapiro, who oversees all aspects of education at United Hebrew, including the Early Childhood Center, Religious School, Hebrew School and Adult Education.

Parents interested in learning more about United Hebrew’s Early Childhood Center, serving children age 7 months through pre-Kindergarten, will be able to meet with ECC Director, Renée Kohn.  Lee Rosenberg, Director of Youth Engagement, will also be there to address the expansion of educational, social and community service programming specifically designed for youth, teens and college-age students.  Program Director, Marisa Reby, will provide information on the numerous social and community-based programs and auxiliaries that serve members of all ages and life-stages.

Registrations will be accepted for Preschool, Religious School and Hebrew School.  Attendance prizes and a raffle drawing for a free one-year membership for prospective members will be awarded.

United Hebrew is conveniently located ¼ mile north of the intersection of I-64/40 and Highway 141 on Conway Road in West St. Louis County.  Founded in 1837, it is the first Jewish congregation west of the Mississippi River and an affiliate congregation of the Union for Reform Judaism.
