Best Buy Drops the Ball on Online Orders

Best Buy says it's been overwhelmed with online orders and won't get some of those items shipped in time for Christmas.

Electronics retailer  says it's been overwhelmed with orders for some products on its online store and won't be able to get some of those items under the tree in time for Christmas.

According to a report by the Associated Press, "the Minneapolis company declined Thursday to specify how many orders are affected or which products are out of stock."

Tech blog Gizmodo quoted from the company's official statement, which said: "Due to overwhelming demand of hot product offerings on BestBuy.com during the November and December time period, we have encountered a situation that has affected redemption of some of our customers' online orders. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and we have notified the affected customers."
