As previously reported by Patch, Mary A. Mullenix, 69, is accused of stabbing her 76-year-old husband, Ivan L. Mullenix Sr., to death in their Country Life Acres home.

FOX2 reports the 911 call about the incident came from Mullenix's son. The call came in around 12:45 a.m., Thursday, July 18, and when police arrived, Mary Mullenix was reportedly outside the home. Her husband was then found dead inside.

Thursday, prosecutors charged Mary Mullenix with second-degree murder, one count of armed criminal action, and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

Now, FOX2 reports Mullenix left jail Monday and her attorneys say she plans to plead not guilty. Police also reportedly responded to an assault call last August which was was called in as Mary Mullenix being assaulted by her husband. The case was not prosecuted, according to FOX2.

Police calls also reveal an incident this past New Year’s Eve where a dispatcher emphasized Ivan Mullenix was ‘intoxicated’ when police checked on him for a fall, FOX2 states in the report.

The Country Life Acres village where the incident occurred is a small community patrolled by Town and Country Police.
