Burglary Alert Issued by Town and County Police

Police are warning residents to report any suspicious behavior after a home was broken into, ransacked and burglarized.

The The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department.

Police are searching for suspects after forced entry was made into a home and it was ransacked and burglarized. Police said in an email alert Tuesday that the incident happened at a home on Brookwood Road between 07:30 a.m. and 12:24 p.m. Monday while the homeowners were at work.

Residents are urged to be on alert and watch for and report any suspicious behavior to police immediately by calling 911. Investigators are also asking residents to share this information with their neighbors.

Authorities released the following details of the crime in an email alert Tuesday and are asking anyone with information to call police.

CRIME UPDATE – BURGLARY ALERT


On Monday, June 24, 2013 between 07:30 a.m. and 12:24 p.m., a home located at the end of Brookwood Road was burglarized while the homeowners were at work. The unknown suspect(s) forced their way into the residence through a set of French doors located in the rear of the home. The master bedroom was ransacked and a laptop computer and several items of jewelry were stolen, along with a pillowcase.

We urge you to please stay alert and take the following precautions:

  • If you have a home security system, use it!  Be sure it is working properly, especially the panic alarm feature.
  • When leaving your home be sure to lock all doors and window. Be sure to lower the garage door.
  • Be a nosey neighbor! Call the police immediately to report suspicious activity including unfamiliar vehicles or subjects, and unusual noises.
