Burglary Alert: Door Kicked Open, Bedroom Ransacked

Town and Country police have increased patrols and are warning residents of a burglary last night. They say it's similar to other recent burglaries in cul-de-sacs.

Town and Country police now report at least three recent home burglaries where they believe men are pulling into cul-de-sacs and targeting homes in the back of courts.

The most recent burglary that took place Tuesday night.

As previously reported by Patch, one incident took place in the 12800 block of Topping Manor Drive on June 28 and another home on Brookwood Road was broken into, ransacked and burglarized on June 24 while the homeowners were at work.

Town and Country police said they have increased patrols in the area and released the following email alert Wednesday detailing this latest crime.

Last night at approximately 10:05 p.m. West Central Dispatch Center (WCDC) received a call for a burglar alarm sounding at a home in the 12800 block of Brighton Woods Drive. The residents were not home so Town and Country Police were dispatched. Officers discovered a French door located at the rear of the residence had been kicked open. Pry marks were also found on a basement door and window. The suspect(s) fled the area prior to police arrival. The master bedroom was ransacked and several items of gold and silver jewelry were stolen.

Similar in nature to the previous burglaries of June 25th on Brookwood Road and June 28th on Topping Manor Drive, this home was located on a street off Topping Road and was at the end of a cul-de-sac. Additionally, the point of entry was secluded by landscaping.

Town and Country Police have increased their patrols in the affected area and are urging residents to report any suspicious vehicles or subjects immediately by calling 911.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Central Dispatch Center at (314) 737-4600 or Detective Jim Gorman at 314-587-2866 or email him a gormanjk@town-and-country.org.
