UPDATED: Police Issue Burglary Alert
Police are reporting two similar burglaries within five days of each other and say thieves may be targeting homes in cul de sacs.
Town and Country police report two recent home burglaries where they believe men are pulling into cul de sacs and targeting homes in the back of courts.
As previously reported by Patch, a home on Brookwood Road was broken into, ransacked and burglarized on June 24 while the homeowners were at work.
Now, police report a second similar incident in the 12800 block of Topping Manor Drive on Friday, June 28.
Town and Country police issued the following email alert Tuesday.
Town and Country Police responding to a burglar alarm in the 12800 block of Topping Manor Drive on Friday, June 28 discovered that the home had been broken into by unknown suspect(s). Entry was made by prying and forcing open the sliding door at the rear of the residence.
Once inside the suspect(s) set off the home’s security system at 2:45 p.m. The master bedroom was ransacked and jewelry was stolen. The suspect(s) fled the area prior to police arriving.
This incident is similar to the burglary on Brookwood Road we alerted you about in our previous crime update of June 25. Both homes were located at the end of the cul-de-sac and were seclude by trees and other landscaping. Surrounding agencies have reported similar incidents.
Similar burglaries have also reportedly taken place in Ladue.
Police urge residents to call 911 if they observe any suspicious people, vehicles or activity in their neighborhoods.
