Get Out: Egg Hunts, World Records and Stringrays Found Around the Area This Weekend

There are many Easter egg hunts for the family to enjoy this weekend with goodies to take home. Plus, Patch readers have to opportunity to touch stingrays, break a Guinness World Record or take in an art show.

EASTER EGG HUNT
Where: Registration for the Easter egg hunt is at 11 a.m. and the hunt will begin at noon at in Town and Country on Saturday.
Why go: Before the egg hunt, kids will be able to make crafts, decorate a bird feeder and receive free tree seedlings. This egg hunt is a fundraiser for the equine therapy at the park, which helps children with physical and mental disabilities interact with and ride the horses kept at Longview Farm Park. The event will be dog friendly with dog treats on hand.
Pricing: The cost for the Easter egg hunt is $10 per participant as part of a fundraiser for .

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED -

Where: This event will take place at in Town and Country, on Thursday April 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Pricing: The cost for this class is $25 and reservations are required.

STINGRAYS AT CARIBBEAN COVE FEATURING SHARKS
Where: The Caribbean Cove will reopen Saturday, Apr 23 at the St. Louis Zoo . The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Why go: Marvel at the opportunity to touch and feed the stingrays as they swim in the 17,000-gallon tropical saltwater pool. New additions to this habitat are brownbanded bamboo and bonnethead sharks.
Pricing: Entry into the cove is $3 for non-members, $1.50 for members and feeding is $1. Children under two are free. Admission is free the first hour the zoo is open.

"PETALS, PEDALS AND METAL"
Where: The Plein Air Artist’s Event will be at the Yellow Farmhouse Winery in Defiance, MO on Saturday from 11a.m. to 4p.m.. A reception will take place at 5 p.m. at the winery.
Why go: Artists will paint, draw and sketch flowers , the bicycles of the Katy Trail and the motorcycles of Defiance (hence the name petals, pedals and metal). There will be a reception at the end of the day where prizes will be given out.
Pricing: Admission to the reception, which is open to the public, is $10 and includes drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

"EGG HUNTS" FOR THE ANIMALS
Where: This special egg hunt for the animals will take place on Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Saint Louis Zoo.
Why go: Enjoy watching the animals search for their treats and meet zookeepers at Keeper Chats. See the eggstravaganza schedule (weather permitting) for all of the events.
Pricing: Admission into the zoo is always free. As a special treat, a bag of candy will be given away with the purchase of each Safari pass, animal adoption or membership on Sunday while supplies last.

WCF's 2011 EASTER EGG HUNT
Where: This Easter egg hunt is Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chesterfield Central Park Pavillion. This event is sponsored by the West County Fellowship, a campus of Central Presbyterian Church.
Why go: Because there will be a scavenger hunt for easter eggs, games, and free lunch.

EASTER EGG HUNT
Where: This Easter egg hunt is Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Tilles Park's Gloria Rodgers Shelter. It is sponsored by McKnight Road Church of Christ.
Why go: Because there will be more than 5000 Easter eggs, golden egg prizes, games, face painting and of course a chance to take your picture with the Easter Bunny. Bring kids 0 to 11 and your own baskets for this rain or shine event.
Pricing: Admission price of $5.00 per child will benefit The Training Center for Service.

CHESTERFIELD MALL AND WEST COUNTY CENTER
Where: The Easter Bunny will be available Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the lower lever of both malls.
Why go: The snow has finally stopped, and the Easter Bunny is hopping in for a visit. He is waiting for all of his little friends to visit and have their photos snapped with him..
Pricing: Visits with the Easter Bunny are free and reservations are not required. Professional photo packages start at $20.

EASTER EGG-CITEMENT AT ECKERTS
Where: Eckerts Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday and Sunday. The hunts will take place every hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eckerts Country Store & Farms in Belleville.
Why go: Eckert's will offer a yummy treat, face painting, baby chicks and bunnies at the Easter egg hunt. Visit with the Easter Bunny, and take a picture if you wish.
Pricing: The cost of the hunt is $9 per child. Here is a coupon for 50-percent off one admission when you buy one at regular price. Photos with the bunny can be purchased for $5 each.

BREAKFAST WITH THE BUNNY AT ECKERTS
Where: Breakfast With The Bunny will take place Saturday and Sunday at Eckert’s Country Restaurant from 8 until 9:30 a.m..
Why go: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, start your day off right with the Easter Bunny. You will need your strength for all of the other fun events at Eckert's.
Pricing: The meal is the only cost involved. Reservations are recommended.
