Free Events for Mom, Art and Beer Make This Weekend a Hit

Get out and enjoy an art fair, a beer festival and lots of things to pamper mom this weekend.

EVANHEALY SKINCARE EVENT
Where: This skincare event is on Saturday, from 12 - 3 p.m, at in Town and Country.
Why go: To experience a skincare treatment created by Evan Healy. Skincare products will be presented by Louisa from Evanhealy who has a holistic, homeopathic and ayurvedic approach.
Pricing: FREE. Advanced registration required at the Whole Body desk.

MOM'S MAKE YOUR OWN FRUIT SALAD

Where: This event will be Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the café area of in Town and Country.
Why go: Kids will be making mom a special surprise gift, while mom relaxes and makes her own fruit salad.
Pricing: FREE. Reservations not required.

CELEBRATE MOTHERS DAY IN WHOLE BODY

Where: Pampering for mom will take place on Saturday, from 12 to 3 p.m., around the Whole Body department of in Town and Country.
Why go: Stations will be set up around the Whole Body department. Receive a free ten minute chair massage from Angel, reflexologist and massage therapist. Snacks and beverages will be offered and moms will receive goodie bags, while supplies last.
Pricing: FREE. Reservations not required.

ART FAIR AT LAUMEIER
Where: The art fair will be at Laumeier Sculpture Park, Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Why go: View art work at this highly competetive juried show with works of art in ceramics, fiber/textiles, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and wood. For the kids there will be hands-on art activities. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Schlafly Beer, Kakao Chocolate, El Maguey Mexican Restaurant, Mediterranean Foods, Smugala’s Pizza Pub and more. There will be great entertainers including Erin Bode and Kim Massie. Check the Art Fair website for all of the details.
Pricing: Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children (ages 6-11) and members and children younger than 6 are FREE.

THE ART OF THE VINE (ART FAIR AT LAUMEIER)
Where: Ther Art Fair's wine tasting event takes place on Friday evening at the fair.
Why go: To celebreate the fair's opening night with wine from Blumenhof Vineyards and Winery, Bommarito Estate Almond Tree Winery, Garland Wines, Sainte Genevieve Winery and Stone Hill Winery.
Pricing: A separate admission charge of $12 provides unlimited wine tastings.  Members pay $10. Members receive a speciial BOGO FREE deal on wine purchases.

ST. LOUIS MUSIC FESTIVAL: MOTHER'S DAY EDITION
Where: The festival will be on Friday 7:30 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m at the Chifetz Arena.
Why go: To listen to the stylin' sounds of Charlie Wilson, Fantasia, En Vogue, Eric Benet and Rickey Smiley
Pricing: Depending on seating, tickets are $37, $51, $67 and $77. There is a $3 increase on tickets the day of the show.

KINGSBURY ENSEMBLE ORCHESTRA
Where: The concert will be on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church
Why go: The Kingsbury Ensemble orchestra with Jay Carter and John Korak will perform the music of Vivaldi, Handel and Purcell. Included in the program are Henry Purcell's suite from "Abdelazer or The Moor's Revenge", Handel's aria, "Eternal Source of Light Divine" from "Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne" and much more beautiful music.
Pricing: General admission is $20, $15 for seniors and $5 for students with ID.

16th ANNUAL ST. LOUIS MICROFEST
Where: The Microfest will take place Friday, from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, from 1 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m., and Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Forest Park Upper Muny parking lot.
Why go: Sample many craft and international beers, listen to live music and watch chef demos. Enjoy the Brewer Olympics (competition includes keg toss, malt bag haul and more) as well as the Homebrew Competition.
Pricing: Admission is $27 to $42.
*Sunday Giveaway: The first 500 people to purchase tickets for Sunday, Mother's Day, will receive a free Carolina Blue lunch tote. Also the first 500 people to purchase tickets for the Friday session will receive a FREE upgrade to a Pilsner glass.
