Second Friday Notes

Second friday notes is a literary series that will take place on the second Friday evening of each month in our café. The hour-and-a-half show will usually feature two or more poets and one musical performer or group. For July, we have poets Kristin Sharp and Jon Dressel.  Dressel is a retired professor of literature and an expert in poets and poetry of Wales. He is the former proprietor of Dressel’s Public House in the Central West End of St. Louis. His son, Ben Dressel, now operates the restaurant. Kristin Sharp is a neighbor of Dressel’s and a local poet. Sharp has organized several local poetry events including Poems, Pints and Prose held the first Tuesday of each month at Dressel’s Public House. Our music for the evening Ken Mathews from St. Charles and his daughter Amber both play guitar and have great singing voices. This event is cosponsored by the St. Louis Poetry Center.
