Second Friday Notes

Second Friday Notes is a literary series that will take place on the second Friday evening of each month in our café. The hour-and-a-half show will usually feature two or more poets and one musical performer or group. Our poets for May are Linda O’Connell and Lisa Ebert. Linda is a member of distinction with St. Louis Writers Guild; she is a teacher and an award-winning, widely published, multi-genre writer. Linda, a positive thinker, writes from the heart, bares her soul and finds humor in everyday situations. Her published poems, essays and articles appear in over 150 anthologies, periodicals, books, newspapers and literary magazines. http://lindaoconnell.blogspot.com/. Lisa works as an Assistant Professor of English and she resides in St. Louis with four sons and one rock-and-roll husband.  Her poetry, fiction and non-fiction have appeared in River Styx, the Riverfront Times, St. Louis Magazine, Literal Chaos, bad shoe, and Flood Stage: an Anthology of St. Louis Poets.  She is currently under contract to release her first novel later this year with Walrus Publishing. As we turn to the musical portion of the evening we look forward to a return appearance from Ro Anderson a St. Louis singer-song writer and acoustic folk artist. St. Louisan Dwight Bitikofer will be the emcee for the event. This event is cosponsored by the St. Louis Poetry Center. Dwight Bitikofer can be reached at bitikofer@timesnewspapers.com.
