Whiz Kid: Talent Takes Miranda From Manchester to Dublin

A gifted young dancer is heading to Dublin to compete, but she's already won a place as one of Patch's Whiz Kids.

Whiz Kid Age: 11

Whiz Kids School: Christ Prince of Peace School in Manchester four days a week and the Parkway School District's Mosaics gifted program one day each week.

Whiz Kids Accomplishments: Miranda has qualified for the 2011 World Irish Dance Championships and will be traveling to Dublin next month to compete in both the solo and team levels. The 2011 World Championships are being held in Dublin for the first time in 15 years. Miranda has qualified to compete in the world championships several times. Mary Clarkson and Jen Thomas from the   think she is an all-around leader at the school. Miranda's mom, Gina, said "She is more extraordinary than most kids, she is very dedicated. She dances every day, while keeping up her studies and doing the things her teachers ask her to do."

Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness: "The key to success is hard work and putting a lot of time in practicing," Miranda tells Patch.
