The private funding was needed to disassemble the cabin at 13348 Conway Road reportedly build in 1854. The money was needed to remove the logs, catalogue them and store them at the city's Drace Park.

Demolition of the home encompassing the cabin is underway. The actual disassembly of the log cabin takes place Monday. Right now the exposed cabin is wrapped in tarps to protect it from the winter weather and expected storm on Thursday.

The Post-Dispatch also posted a video online of Mange explaining the process and history behind the cabin.

Although the money was raised to begin the process, more money is still needed for the entire preservation of the cabin, including its reassembly.

Mange is now working on the grant application process to pay for the remainder of the project, however, he said those grants will require local matches in funding.

Donations can me made directly to the Town and Country Historical Society.
