Top Five New Year's Eve Events

Flavors from around the globe are the theme this New Year's Eve. From France to Lebanon to Italy, then right back here to the United States.

If you haven't figured out what you're are doing for New Year's Eve, here are five events you'll find happening in Town and Country and Manchester:

  1. Bistro 1130

     

    New in Town and Country is . The owner is straight from Avignon, France on the left bank of the Rhône close to Marseilles. The restaurant's dishes boast flavors of Provence: lavender, basil, olives and citrus. The chef and cooks in the kitchen are trained in French cuisine, so if you would like an authentic seven course meal, Bistro 1130 is the place to go for New Years Eve. The price is $300 per couple. This includes your seven course meal, live music until 1:30 a.m. and a bottle of Francois Montand champagne. The offerings include flambéed oysters and caviar or if you prefer cooked, Oysters Rockefeller, grade A foie gras, Maine scallops, imported Mediterranean Langostines and more, are well worth the price. Reservations are almost full so call soon if you are interested.

  • Saleem's West

     

    t in Manchester is also having a special celebration this New Year's Eve. Salim Hanna has been satisfying the taste buds of St. Louisans for decades. With the culinary leadership of his son, Simon Hanna, Saleem's West offers authentic Lebanese cuisine that is prepared with fresh and local ingredients. Chef Simon Hanna is offering the following  for $60 per couple: Two glasses of wine (one per person), for appetizers Hummus and Baba ghanoush, dinner salad, two entrees of your choice (one per person) and Baklava for dessert.

  • Sapore Italian Cafe

     

    Paul Buzzetta, chef and owner of in Manchester invites you to enjoy New Year's Eve with him. He is a St. Louis native and learned all of the special flavors and techniques that make his food great from his mother and grandmother. For an authentic Italian meal, Saporé is offering champagne and party favors with a reduced menu that includes Filet stuffed with shrimp and crab in a portabello and port wine sauce as well as Chilean Sea Bass dusted with Italian bread crumbs and served with an olive oil, lemon, garlic and caper sauce.

  • Napoli 2

     

     in Town and Country provides pristine Italian flavors that highlight fresh fish and meat. For this New Year's Eve, the restaurant has a special menu including Beef Carpaccio with arugula, parmesan and a truffle vinaigrette as well as Taylor Bay Scallops in a spicy saffron dijon broth for appetizers and a variety of salad and lobster bisque. For your first course they offer a choice of pastas including Tagliolini "Nero" Putanesca which is a handmade black spaghetti with a spicy sherry wine tomato sauce with mushrooms, capers, olives or a one pound Maine lobster. Also featured on the menu are Veal Saltimbocca, Filet Mignon, Bone in Ribeye, Shrimp Scampi, Arctic Char, Monkfish as well as a Surf and Turf.

    If you want a casual evening out just for fun then is your spot! They will offer noise makers and champagne. But bring your singing voice, since Karaoke is the name of the game this New Year's Eve.
