Take Our Poll: Should Pit Bulls be Banned?

Town and Country is poised to remove its ban on pit bull and dogs that look like pit bulls. Do you agree?

Local residents Dr. Kenneth Bentley and his wife Kathleen have . Currently, pit bulls and dogs that resemble pit bulls are deemed as "vicious" dogs and are not allowed to be kept as pets in Town and Country.

Captain Patrick Kranz of the told Patch the police department had seen that the ordinance could be considered outdated. The Police Commission has been reviewing the city's animal regulations and have suggested several revisions to the board of alderman to bring the code in line with St. Louis County rules.

The board of aldermen will vote on the new ordinance August 6.
