Westminster Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

Jennifer M. Albertson and Rachel M. Rogers, seniors at Westminster Christian Academy, were recently honored as National Merit Semifinalists.

In 2012, Albertson and Rogers were two of approximately 1.5 million juniors nationwide to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program. Based on the results of the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), less than 1 percent of student applicants received the honor of being selected as a Semifinalist.

Albertson and Rogers are now eligible to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. Students are evaluated based on their academic record, school curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, information about the student’s activities and leadership, and a written essay.
