Westminster Student Selected as State Finalist for Miss Missouri Pageant

Westminster Christian Academy eighth grade student, Amani Holmes, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Missouri Pageant to be held June 28, 2014, at The Holiday Inn in Columbia, Missouri.

The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, and have five different age divisions. Holmes will be participating in the junior teen age division, along with other outstanding young ladies from across the state of Missouri.

The winner of the Pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California.

At Westminster, Holmes’s activities include drama, soccer, choir, volleyball, cheerleading, and playing string bass in the school band. She also enjoys singing, dancing, modeling, and volunteering in community events.

The National American Miss pageants emphasize the importance of developing self-confidence, learning good sportsmanship, as well as setting and achieving personal goals. The Pageant recognizes the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for her future.
