Kick Off Football Season with a Tech-Savvy Verizon Wireless Game Plan

The 2013 football season is just around the corner. After breaking out your jersey, it’s time to develop your mobile technology strategy to host winning tailgates and catch the best action in the stands all season long.

Before heading to the stadium, check out these tailgating tips from Yahoo! Sports contributor Aaron David Harris. Here’s one example: “One of the best ways to manage your tasks is to make a list to keep yourself organized. It could be a list of food items, a list of things to do, or a list of scheduled activity leading up to the game.”

To keep your pre-game festivity planning on track, apps like Tailgating provide a checklist of what to bring to the parking lot so you don’t forget items like utensils or condiments. Weber Grills, with more than 75 different recipes to choose from, is another app to have on hand if you’re going to break out the grill but want some variety in your spread.

Entertain fellow tailgaters with music right from your mobile device. Pump up the volume with wireless speakers such as the Beats Pill or Jawbone JAMBOX Bluetooth Speaker as a way to share music with a larger group.

Once inside the stadium, you don’t have to be limited to the action on the gridiron in front of you. Products like Slingbox 500 and Belkin @ TV Plus connect with your cable provider’s box at home and allow you to watch everything available on your TV right on a smartphone or tablet while sitting on the 50-yard line cheering on your team.

Complete your pre-season prep by downloading the ESPN College Football app, so you can stream live games and view in-progress highlights from college games around the country. NFL fans who subscribe to NFL Mobile get premium access to coverage of Thursday night, Sunday night and Monday night games as well as the NFL Network, NFL RedZone and more.

Whether you’re cheering on BCS National Champions the Alabama Crimson Tide or another team, you’ll be able to keep up with all the latest football action wherever you may find yourself on game day.
