American Legion National Commander National Commander to Visit Manchester Post 208

AMERICAN LEGION NATIONAL COMMANDER TO VISIT MANCHESTER POST 208.

American Legion National Commander, Dan Dellinger is slated to visit Manchester’s Walter H. LePere Post 208 on November 5, 2013.  A member of the Dyer-Gunnell American Legion Post 180 in Vienna, VA, Dan was elected National Commander of the 2.4 million-member American Legion organization during the 95th national convention of the nation’s largest veteran organization.  As National Commander, Dan has the full power to enforce provisions of the organization’s constitution, bylaws and resolutions.  He is the chief executive officer and official spokesman of the American Legion.

Commander Dellinger holds a degree in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and served as an Infantry officer at Fort Benning during the Viet Nam War.  He separated from the service in 1984 with the rank of captain. Manchester’s Post 208 is planning a gathering for the National Commander scheduled from 11AM to 1PM with  lunch being served at 11:30AM.  Food will be prepared and served by Post members.

This is believed to be the first time that a National Commander has ever visited Post 208 in its 94-year history and it is considered to be a signal honor for the Post.  The event is open to all who purchase a $5.00 ticket before October 25, 2013.  Call Post Headquarters at 636-391-9424 after 2PM daily, to reserve your ticket.
