Dogs in Hot Cars: Patch Editor Tests Scenario Herself

Spend 25 minutes in an un-air-conditioned car and you will think twice about leaving your pet in the same situation.

Written by Lindsay Toler.

We've heard the warnings: "Don't leave your pet inside your car on hot days."

But it still happens. Earlier this month, police in West County cited a second person for locking their dog inside a car on a hot day when the high hovered around 88 degrees.

So Patch editor Brooklyn Lowery decided to take on the issue for herself. She locked herself in her car at 10 a.m. on a 90-degree day for 25 minutes and filmed the results.

Watch Brooklyn's video here.

Why do folks still keep their pets in hot cars? Have you ever left your dog in the car when you ran in somewhere? Have you ever called the police on someone who did?
