Looking for that special Christmas tree? Check out the 1500+ trees at Manchester United Methodist Church's Christmas Tree Lot, 14380 Manchester Rd., in Manchester. (It's Manchester Athletic Association's parking lot, just west of Highway 141, next to Enterprise Leasing.)

Operated entirely by more than 100 volunteers, the lot is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week through Dec. 23 (or while supplies last). 

All proceeds benefit people in the St. Louis area through community programs, including Boy Scout Eagle Projects, Circle of Concern, Epworth Children & Family Services, Gateway Central United Methodist Food Distribution, Kingdom House, Lafayette Work Center, Manchester Athletic Association, Manchester Center, Pony Bird, Shalom House, Eden Theological Seminary and St. Paul School of Theology.

This year's trees are Balsam, Douglas, Fraser, Noble and Scotch Pine. Depending on variety, trees range in height from 6 feet to 12 feet. Also available for purchase are pine wreaths, pine roping, bows and tree stands. We accept cash, personal checks and credit cards. Tree prices start at $37.

The tree lot has been a West County tradition since the church men's group started it in 1964.
