It's free (as are all of CSC’s cancer support programs and groups) and open to adults age 18 and up with a cancer diagnosis and one adult family member.

Chess is a game that can provide empowerment, companionship, and a sense of control – all important when lives are impacted by a cancer diagnosis.

This class is designed for the beginner-level chess player starting with how the pieces move, and ending with strategy and tactics. Don’t miss out on this fun opportunity to find your inner warrior.

Numerous free programs are offered through the Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis, including the following: Support Groups, Stress Management Programs, Education Workshops, Nutrition and Exercise Programs and Gentle Movement Classes.

Laura Rossmann is the organization's executive director.
