Senior PGA Championship Means Road Closures And No Parking Zones

The City of Town and Country provided the following traffic plan for residents as the 2013 Senior PGA Championship gets underway this week.

As previously reported by Patch, the Senior PGA Championship takes place at Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country May 21 - 26. Ladue Road will be closed from Mason Road to Highway 141 during the tournament. Spectator parking will be based at the Verizon Amphitheater and shuttled to the course.  The City of Town and Country is reminding residents to be aware and prepare for the road closures this week. Residents can find more details on what to expect this week in the following traffic plan issued by the city. News Nearby: Baskin Robbins Now Open Off Manchester Road

The ice cream shop is now open near Schnucks at Manchester and North Ballas Road.

Baskin Robbins has brought its 31-plus flavors to Des Peres, just off Manchester Road near Interstate 270. Patch reader Lisa Helein attended a friends and family night at the new store last weekend and shared with Patch that the store would be opening Tuesday at 1078 North Ballas Road, with a grand opening planned for June. The restaurant's petition for a conditional use permit was heard at a public hearing at the Des Peres Board of Aldermen meeting Monday evening. Tucker’s Place Takes the Cake for Steak

Find out what other restaurants made Riverfront Times readers' list of favorite places for steak in St. Louis.

One of the St. Louis area’s best steakhouse is right here in Manchester, according to Riverfront Times readers. Tucker’s Place was named Favorite Steak, the publication revealed in its Restaurants 2013 guide. This should come as no surprise—the restaurant, which has locations in Manchester, Mehlville and Soulard is often the winner of RFT reader polls. Rankings were determined by reader votes, according to RFT.  The restaurant received fourth for its burgers and business lunch offerings. “Tucker’s is an everyday kind of place for an anything-but-everyday kind of steak,” according to RFT. Celebrity Chefs Scheduled For Senior PGA at Bellerive

Local and celebrity chefs, including Pat and Gina Neely, Cat Cora and Andrew Zimmern, will reportedly be part of the Senior PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club later this month.

Local and celebrity chefs, including Pat and Gina Neely, Cat Cora and Andrew Zimmern, will be part of the Senior PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club later this month, KSDK reports. According to KSDK, the chefs can be found in theKitchenAid Fairway Club during the 74th Senior PGA Championship. On May 24, KitchenAid will host Cookin' and Rockin' for the Cure which will benefit Cook for the Cure, a partnership with Susan G. Komen, according to KSDK. New Restaurant, Online Ticket Payment Before Aldermen Monday

Town and Country aldermen discuss outdoor seating for a new restaurant coming to Town and Country Crossing, plus could approve online traffic ticket payments Monday night. View full agenda here.

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen meets Monday night.  Aldermen are set to discuss more plans, including the outside seating/patio plans, for Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant. The new restaurant is set to move into the Town and Country Crossing shopping center this fall. Aldermen will also likely vote on the city beginning a program where it would accept payments of fees for traffic tickets, court costs and other related matters online. If passed by aldermen, the city would enter into an agreement with TrafficPayment.com. As previously reported by Patch, City Financial Director Betty Cotner said it would help the city collect more fees by making it easier for people to pay tickets. No word yet on when the online service would be …
