Are you an inspired photographer? Is it time to get the easel out of the closet or dust off the violin? Maybe all you play is the radio, but you love the creative energy of an arts scene. You’re not alone. Neighbors are coming together to foster creativity and the arts in our city.
The Manchester Arts Council views the arts broadly (visual, musical, performing and theatrical arts, film) and is forming with the idea that art nourishes and enriches our lives and community, regardless of age, gender or ability.
More than 30 fascinating and talented individuals have already joined the effort. At previous gatherings, I have been humbled by the wide variety of talent, all from our area.
Painters? We have a dozen. Photography? You’d be stunned by the work. Musicians? Super-talented performers and teachers.
We’ve only just begun and thanks to Patch.com, I’ll be bringing you updates as it unfolds.
Tell your neighbors, tell your friends. Lend your talents or expertise. You might just be surprised what hidden talents surface in our city. Personally, I’m still hoping for a circus performer.
If you have questions or are interested in volunteering your skills, knowledge and passion to the council, please notify Mike Clement at mclement1310@gmail.com or call him at 636.394.5862.
Join us and learn more Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 at 7 pm at the Manchester Police Facility (2nd floor) as we chat with Dan Tierney, Deputy Director of the Regional Arts Commission.

Sounds wonderful: creatively expanding & easy to access too! Any chance for classes for perpetual learners who want to "switch media"?
