New School, Longview Parking & Solar Panels Before Town and Country Aldermen Monday

New School
A vote could come on the proposal for a for the new Raintree Learning Community to be built at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive. Despite a handful of residents speaking out against the project, the Town and Country Planning and Zoning Commission approved the preliminary development plan for the new school on Mason Road near Manchester Road. Now the plan is before aldermen.
Raintree Learning Community is a private school currently located in Ballwin. The school's owner, Ilya Eydelman, wants to build a new 7,310-square-foot school for 70 preschool and kindergarten students Town and Country. However, some residents spoke out against the project. They said the new school will create a traffic hazard, they were not properly notified of the plan and they don't want a commercial property in a residential area.
Longview Farm Parking
Prior to the meeting, aldermen are also set to discuss the Longview Farm Park parking expansion project and grant application process. The discussion will take place in the work session that begins at 6 p.m. at the Town and Country Municipal Center.
In June, aldermen voted to authorize the city to enter into an agreement with Sterling Engineering to bring an engineer on board and move forward with the Longview Farm parking expansion project. The vote also appropriated $15,000 for the engineerig contract with Sterling Engineering. The vote came after Alderman Skip Mange updated aldermen on the parking study and told them is was time to commit to the project or not. He asked aldermen to appropriate $15,000 for the engineering contract. Mange also heads up the committee studying the parking situation and recommending the expansion project.
Solar Panels
As previously reported by Patch, aldermen are also set to discuss a proposed city ordinance that would put guidelines in place for residents who want to install solar energy systems.
