According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the St. Louis County Council passed a resolution Tuesday night designating Wednesday as No Text on Board Pledge Day. Teen drivers are being asked to take the pledge against texting while driving, which AT&T is spearheading.

There is even a Facebook page dedicated to the No Text on Board Pledge.

According to the Post article, the move is a reaction to a new study that shows peer pressure plays a role in teen texting while driving because teens expect a quick response back from friends when they send a message. The study reportedly also inidcated that texting while driving teens are 23 times more likely to cause a crash, according to the Post.

The article also states that AT&T visiting schools throughout the St. Louis area this week asking students to take the No Text on Board Pledge.
