Readers' Choice 2012: Who Serves the Best Toasted Ravioli?

This is a truly authentic St. Louis dish, but who serves the best in the St. Louis metropolitan area? We need your help finding out.

Nothing is as unique to St. Louis cuisine as its toasted ravioli. A New York Times article from the '80s credits a restaurant on The Hill, St. Louis’ historic Italian neighborhood, with the invention of this unique dish, which, the article says, happened by accident when ravioli was accidentally dropped into a frier.

Today, nearly every bar and Americana-style restaurant in St. Louis serves toasted ravioli accompanied by hearty marinara sauce.

There is too much toasted ravioli served out there for us at Patch to sample it all — although we’d love to try.

So we are asking you, our readers, to help us find the place that has the hands-down best toasted ravioli in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

To make your nomination, simply leave the name of the restaurant in the comments section below this story. And don't forget to tell us why that's your choice!

Nominations can be made from today until July 9. Voting will begin thereafter. Make sure to tell all your friends and family to participate.
