The Manchester Board of Aldermen meets Monday night and it has a packed agenda. 

The meeting will start with a public hearing on the proposed 2012 property tax levy. Aldermen are considering setting the 2012 tax rates. It appears both property and utility tax rates for 2012 will likely remain the same as 2011 and 2010.

The city of Manchester is proposing the following tax rates:

• A tax rate of 4.5 cents per $100 assessed valuation on all residential and commercial property.
• A tax rate of 5 cents per $100 of assessed valuation on all personal property.
• A tax rate of 7.4 cents per $100 of assessed valuation on all residential, commercial and personal property tax in the city of Manchester.

A vote is not scheduled for Monday night on the proposed 2012 tax levy.

Aldermen will also discuss authorizing the city to spend $39,000 training and investigative equipment, vehicle accessories and fitness equipment for the Manchester Police Department. The money would come from the city's asset forfeiture account. To view the items the police department wants to purchase, see the agenda included in this aricle (Section 10b).

Also Monday's agenda, the City of Manchester entering a mutual aid agreement with the cities of Ballwin, Ellisville and Chesterfield.

Aldermen are set to vote on the request for a special use permit to operate a Penske truck rental location at 14230 Manchester Road. A request to open a Penske truck rental service by the same business owner but at a different location was granted by aldermen earlier this year after numerous stipulations were added to the agreeement. However, this is an issue with lease at the prior location, 14575 Manchester Road, so business owner Christopher Quail is once again be before the board of aldermen. He asked to open another location at a public hearing at the last board of aldermen meeting. Aldermen will likely vote Monday night on the special use permit requested to operate the business at the new location.
