Police Searching For 'Suspicious' Person Who Reportedly Approached Student
Town and Country police say the man approached a 12-year-old student and repeatedly offered her a ride as she walked home from school.
The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department.
According to an email alert sent out by Town and Country police Thursday, a 12-year old female student was walking home from school when she was approached by a man in a car who offered her a ride.
Authorities stated the incident happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the 13200 block of Clayton Road.
According to the student, the man drove up, pulled alongside her and asked if he could give her a ride home. The email alert from police stated that she declined his repeated offers and made very little eye contact with the man during the interaction.
The man eventually drove off and she continued walking home, according to investigators.
The student described the man as being in his fifties with a scruffy, unshaven appearance and thinning grey hair.
The vehicle is described as a dull, reddish-colored mini-van with bigger windows.
"We're playing it safe and putting the information out there in case he would show up somewhere else," Town and Country Police Captain Gary Hoelzer tells Patch.
