Motorcyclist From Town and Country Charged With Assault-DWI in Collision

Other driver was injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital, police said.

 

A Town and Country man faces criminal charges after crashing his motorcycle into a car in Clayton on Friday, injuring another driver. Clayton Police said the motorcyclist was drunk at the time.

Neil Kulkarni, 37, of the 13500 block of Weston Park Drive in Town and Country, was charged Friday with second-degree assault.

Clayton Police said Kulkarni failed to yield while he was trying to make a left turn at the Hanley Road and Forsyth Road intersection and crashed head-on with a car, injuring the other driver. The driver was take to Barnes-Jewish Hospital by ambulance.

Police said Kulkarni smelled strongly of alcohol, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his balance was uncertain, his speech appeared confused, and he failed all sobriety tests.

Kulkarni’s blood-alcohol content was 0.129 percent, according to the police report.

Bail was set at $10,000.
