Tucker’s Place was bustling on Thursday evening as Manchester police bussed tables for the 6th Annual Clean Up For Special Olympics.

“Last year we were able to donate around $7,000, after donations from Tucker’s Place and Walmart,” said Chief Tim Walsh. “And this year, I think we’re doing pretty good. It’s busy. We’ve been on wait since 5:30.”

Chief Walsh says he is proud of the event, and it will continue to go on as long as they are welcome at Tucker’s Place. Tucker’s Place owner, Tom Struharik, says the event will continue as long as the restaurant is here.

“It’s a great cause. It’s wonderful to help get the kids involved in sports and athletics. It’s a worthy cause, and it’s also a lot of fun,” said Struharik. “And the police are finally getting busing down to a science.”
