Manchester Penske Plans to Move Down the Road

A Penske truck rental service is hoping to move locations and hopes to be operating as soon as the Manchester Board of Aldermen allows it.

Christopher Quail, owner of Quail and Associates Insurance, is requesting a special use permit to operate a Penske truck rental location at 14230 Manchester Road.

The request to open the Penske truck rental service is the second request by Quail this year. The Kansas City, MO resident was granted a special use permit back in March to operate a Penske business at a different location, 14575 Manchester Road, after numerous stipulations were added to the agreeement.

Manchester City Engineer Ed Blattner tells Patch that Quail did begin operating the Penske truck rental service at the 14575 Manchester Road location, but there was an issue with the lease so the Penske business is no longer operating there.

Monday, Quail told aldermen he had issues with the landlord so he is moving locations for the insurance business and hopes to run the Penske service from the new location too.

Quail said his company began its new lease at the new location, 14230 Manchester Road, last Thursday and his insurance business is moving out of the current location at 14575 Manchester Road on Thursday.

The request for the special use permit was recently approved by the Manchester Planning and Zoning Commission.

Aldermen did not vote on granting the special use permit Monday night. It will likely be voted on at the next meeting on August 6. Quail tells Patch he is ready to start operating the Penske truck service from the new location as soon as it is approved.
