Food Fight: Where's Your Favorite Coffee Spot in West County?

We launch a new feature inviting your nominations for a weekly (friendly) competition. This week, the Food Fight turns its attention to java. Can you nominate a spot as your favorite?

Welcome, loyal Patch users, to the premier edition of the West County Food Fight, where we'll look for your help to highlight the best places in the area for pizza, barbecue, burgers and more. With our first edition in 2012, as we head into the heart of wintertime, we start with coffee.

What's your favorite spot for coffee in West County?

Here's how it works:

  • Each week, we'll ask a question about your favorites.
  • We invite you to post your nominations in the comments below.
  • We hope you'll also spread the word about this every week to your friends on Facebook or Twitter and get them involved.
  • Submit comments until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Then:

  • We'll take the top three or four nominees and post an article first thing Thursday morning.
  • That article will include a poll highlighting the top nominees.
  • After the poll starts on Thursday, you'll be able to vote till Friday at 5 p.m.
  • On Saturday, we announce the winner.

So whether it's a latte, cappuccino or a straight brew, hot or iced, what are your nominations? Who has the best coffee in West County?

So show your hometown pride and pick a place near you. Boast about that small family restaurant or other great eatery in your neighborhood.

And, if you are pulling for a certain restaurant, share this column on your personal Facebook page and Twitter feed and ask your followers to vote.

This column is all about you—your ideas, your feedback and your voice—so we hope you will chime in and check back.

I might be biased, because my office is in the building, but the Wolf Public House (Lone Wolf) seems to be a favorite.

I'm a Starbucks girl. Clarkson Rd or the Valley. Both are very convenient for me living in Chesterfield. The Valley is light and bright and has a drive through.

LONE WOLF PUBLIC HOUSE in Ballwin would have to be our favorite. I've been there and enjoyed it on many fronts. Have taken my wife on a date there, have taken all my kiddos there for lunch; have enjoyed the live music multiple nights a week; have even used their side meeting room for group meetings. Awesome local family-owned cafe in the heart of West County...

The Wolf is by far the most diverse of all coffee shops in town. Locally owned, they sponsor runs and bike races. They bring great local acts to WestCo and their food and coffee is top notch.
