Cardinals' Manager Tony La Russa Retiring

Just one day after St. Louis celebrated the Cardinals World Series winTony La Russa announced he is leaving the Cardinals.

The St. Louis Cardinals held a press conference at 9 a.m. this morning to announce Manager Tony La Russa's retirement from the team.

La Russa leaves the team just days after winning the 2011 World Series in seven games over the Texas Rangers. The Cardinals and La Russa also won the 2006 World Series.

2011 was La Russa's 16th year with the Cardinals organization and his 33rd year in Major League Baseball.

No word yet on who will fill La Russa's role as the Cardinal's new leader.

Despite Tony's head-scratching moves and strange relationship with the media, one cannot deny the results. One of the best managers' ever and brought the Cardinals 2 WS Titles!!!
