Athlete Of The Week: Vote for This Week's Top Football Star
Vote for your favorite football player in this week's Athlete of the Week poll. Be sure to vote by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.
The high school football-season is heading toward the playoffs in full-tilt, which means area athletes are tearing up the grid iron and making highlight reel plays.
We want to know which athlete fared the best over the weekend.
We're taking athletes from Maryland Heights Patch, Creve Coeur Patch, Chesterfield Patch, Town and Country-Manchester Patch and Ballwin-Ellisville Patch and finding out which ones are the best, according to the fans.
Vote in the poll: Who was last week's central St. Louis County player of the week?
Here are the nominees:
Parkway North Backfield: Jonathan Little cracked the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the season in the Vikings' 56-7 win over Seckman on Friday, thanks to three touchdowns on the ground. He also added a 90 yard kickoff return for a score. He finished his work Friday with 8 carries for 251 yards and 4 TDs. Hoskins had 10 carries for 265 yards and 3 TDs.
Jonathan Parker, CBC: Another week, another chance for Parker to dominate. Parker had 18 carries for 222 yards and 4 TDs to personally outscore the Helias Crusaders in the Cadets' 42-14 home win.
Robert Zimerman, Pattonville: Zimerman's 92 yard reception for a TD in the 2nd quarter Saturday gave the Pirates the go-ahead score in what turned into a 22-14 Homecoming win over Hazelwood West.
Michael Bruhin, Parkway West: On the night the Longhorns retired former West standout Blaine Gabbert's jersey, it was Bruhin who put up stats like a pro. The running back carried the ball 33 times for 224 yards in what was a tough 38-35 OT loss for the Longhorns.
Remember: It's all for fun. This is simply a fan's choice award.
